Culinary adventures in Balatonszemes!
The cornerstone of our concept is respect for gastronomic traditions, as well as the extensive use of raw materials from the region and support for local farmers and winemakers. We pride ourselves on our wide network of producers and the close friendships we have built up over the years with our farmers and winemakers. The ingredients on the menu include vegetables and fruit from the region, as well as home-made syrups, jams, cheeses, salamis and hams from individual producers.
To ensure constant renewal, our seasonal menu changes every six weeks, so that you can choose from two different menus each season, alongside the traditional dishes that are available all year round. The core elements of our seasonal menu are the Flavours of the Region menu and, along the same theme, the Vegan Flavours of the Region menu, introduced in 2020, each with four courses.
Our aim and our heart is to showcase and highlight the potential of our region, both in food and wine. Our wine list is dominated by the wines produced by the wineries of Balaton, but also includes wines from other Hungarian wine regions. Our wine list now boasts over 700 items, most of which are Hungarian wines.
A significant milestone in our life is the opening of our accommodation in the autumn of 2021, with which we aim to offer our guests a complex gastronomic – tourist experience during their stay. We have created the Chef’s Room, the perfect venue for our themed events, dinners and gastronomy-focused private or business events. A special feature of the Chef’s Room is that you can watch our chefs at work live in the show kitchen or via screens. During the cooking evenings, we invite renowned chefs and friends with a passion for quality gastronomy to create a menu, thus passing on to our guests the love of food and drink, as well as the values, ideas and life experiences that motivate us every day.
